Prayers to Learn : 2nd Grade
Hail, Holy Queen
Hail, holy Queen, mother of mercy, our life, our sweetness, and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished
children of Eve. To thee do we send up our sighs mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then,
most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this our exile show us the blessed fruit of
thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.
Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God, that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
An Act of Contrition
O my God, I am heartily sorry for
having offended Thee,
and I detest all my sins,
because I dread the loss of heaven,
and the pains of hell;
but most of all because
they offend Thee, my God,
Who are all good and
deserving of all my love.
I firmly resolve,
with the help of Thy grace,
to confess my sins,
to do penance,
and to amend my life. Amen.

Lord’s Prayer (Our Father)
Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
Thy kingdom come;
Thy will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
give us this day our daily bread
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.
Hail Mary
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you!
Blessed are you among women
and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Grace before Meals
Bless us O, Lord and these thy gifts which we are about to receive from thy bounty, through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
3Grace after Meals
We give You thanks, almighty God, for all your benefits, who love and reign now and forever. Amen.

To help us ensure there are always people praying during Eucharistic adoration times, please consider signing up for a timeslot HERE.
What do people do in Adoration?
In adoration, people spend time with Jesus. When they arrive, they genuflect or kneel (if they can) to show reverance because they are in the presence of God. Some people also sit quietly and pray. Some read the Bible, a prayer book, or other spiritual reading or write in a journal.
In Mass, we contemplate and receive Jesus in the Eucharist. At adoration, we continue that contemplation and have more time for personal prayer. Adoration can make time at Mass even more fruitful.

Anointing of the Sick
The Anointing of the Sick
Annointing of the sick is a sacrament that gives grace and strengthening to those who have a serious illness, are preparing for surgery or medical procedures due to illness or injury, or are frail due to advanced age.
If you or a loved one would like to receive this sacrament of healing, please call the rectory at 301-424-5550 or email stmaryrockville@yahoo.com. In case of an after-hours emergency, follow the instructions on the rectory voicemail.
About this Sacrament
"By the sacred anointing of the sick and the prayer of the priests, the whole Church commends those who are ill to the suffering and glorified Lord, that he may raise them up and save them and indeed she exhorts them to contribute to the good of the People of God by freely uniting themselves to the Passion and death of Christ." (Catechism of the Catholic Church)
