St. Mary's is a Great Place to Grow...
Since 1951 we have been forming responsible, faith-filled children through a rigorous curriculum that marries faith, academics and service. The greatest testament to our mission of educating the whole child is the fact that so many alumni return to the halls of St. Mary’s School to educate their children. We are expanding every day through an array of extracurricular opportunities, an extended preschool with all-day hours and ongoing training for staff and administrators.

Married Love is a Generous Love
As you prepare for marriage, here are some tips for how to prepare to be generous in marriage. You can begin to express this generosity even now while planning your wedding:
Commit to strengthen your most important relationship with Christ in the center of your love, pray for each other and with each other daily and make small sacrifices for each other, and ask for forgiveness and offer forgiveness when you hurt each other. Begin praying for future children and ask the Lord to help you be generous in the gift of life and don’t forget the possibility of adoption. Begin now to talk with each other about your expectations for raising children in the faith. Make the reception last your whole life long, strive to open your homes in hospitality to guests and strangers. Plan in your marriage to regularly welcome family, friends and neighbors into your home and share meals and time with them. Consider how you are spending on your wedding, and how you might give a percentage of what you are spending on the wedding to things you both love, like your church or a charity that helps others. You might invite wedding guests to join you in making a contribution in thanksgiving for your marriage. Finally, the generosity of married love is expressed in the time you spend using your gifts to serve others. Consider how you will dedicate intentional time in serving the Church and others. You can ask the priest preparing you for marriage how you can serve and where your help may be needed.

Living the Faith : Marriage, Expecting the Unexpected
Each year couples who attend our marriage preparation classes come with the hope to start a new life with the blessing of God
They bring with them many expectations, a long list of all the things they should have for their celebration, but have they ever thought of the unexpected?
The exhortation for the Rite of Marriage reads:
“…This union, then, is most serious, because it will bind you together for life in a relationship so close and so intimate, that it will profoundly influence your whole future, That future, with its hopes and disappointments, its successes and its failures, its pleasures and its pains, its joys and its sorrows, is hidden from your eyes. You know that these elements are mingled in every life, and are to be expected in your own. And so not knowing what is before you, you take each other for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death… “And if true love and the unselfish spirit of perfect sacrifice guide your every action, you can expect the greatest measure of earthly happiness that may be allotted to man in this vale of tears. The rest is in the hands of God. Nor will God be wanting to your needs, he will pledge you the life-long support of his graces [in the Holy Sacrament which you are now going to receive].”
The mystery of the sacrament shows its unexpected transcendence. The natural marriage created by God and elevated to the sacrament by Christ, remains as a sublime reality that escapes our total understanding.
